Safety at Read The Room

A reality check is not emergency support.

Read The Room offers educational reflection and general information—not therapy, medical or mental-health care, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or a substitute for a licensed professional.

If there is immediate danger

If you may act on thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 now. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Outside the U.S.

Call your local emergency number, go to the nearest emergency department, or contact an approved local crisis service. We use this general prompt until localized resources are approved.

What our safety check does

Every submitted situation is screened before it enters the response queue. Some submissions are paused or stopped. Read The Room does not monitor users, dispatch emergency help, create a clinician-patient relationship, or guarantee confidentiality.
